As the 2017/18 UK tax year has now ended, we thought now is a good time to remind you about your company's UK annual reporting requirements for employee share plans.

We’re now into the fourth year of HMRC’s online share plan reporting regime. Companies need to register their share plans with HMRC, self-certify their tax advantaged arrangements, and file online annual returns setting out certain share plan related activity which has occurred during the 2017/18 tax year by 6 July 2018.

Although the deadline may seem a long way off, it can be complex to get things right, particularly if you have any internationally mobile employees or have gone through a corporate transaction during the year. You'll also need to think about the impact on your reporting position if you have "net-settled" any share awards. We can help you to be compliant across all aspects of the process.
