29 June 2019 - G20 Leaders welcome OECD progress and issue Osaka Declaration on Digital Economy
On Saturday, 29 June 2019, G20 leaders met in Osaka and agreed a Declaration that endorsed the OECD's continued work with the Inclusive Framework of 129 countries to address the tax challenges arising as a result of the digitalisation of the economy. The communique committed to the timetable previoulsy laid out; with a final report to be published in 2020:
In addition, the G20 Leaders adopted the Osaka Declaration on the Digital Economy, which affirms "the importance of promoting national and international policy discussions for harnessing the full potential of the data and the digital economy to foster innovation."
