Following the Malaysian Government’s implementation of the Movement Control Order from 18 March to 31 March 2020 to control the spread of COVID-19, the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board (MIRB) announced on 17 March 2020 that tax return filing and balance of tax payment deadlines falling between March 2020 until June 2020 have been extended up to two months. The MIRB also has announced that it will provide virtual and telephone support during the Movement Control Order period from 18 March to 31 March, 2020, given that it will be required to close during this period.
