On 24 January, ministers and high-level officials from Barbados, Côte d’Ivoire, Jamaica, Malaysia, Panama and Tunisia signed the BEPS Multilateral Convention, bringing the total number of signatories to 78. This Convention (also known as the multilateral instrument or MLI) will update the existing network of bilateral tax treaties and reduce opportunities for tax avoidance by multinational enterprises.
